Ming Campbell elected as LibDem Leader

In a 72% poll of members, the first round of the leadership contest resulted in Ming Campbell 21,628 (45%); Chris Huhne 16,691 (32%); and Simon Hughes 12,081 (23%) In the second round Simon Hughes supporters' second preferences were redistributed, 6,433 to Ming Campbell; 4,937 to Chris Huhne (in exactly the same ratio as their first round votes) with 711 not expressing a preference. So the final result was Ming Campbell 29,697 (58%); Chris Huhne 23,264 (42%).
